Golda "Sharon" Barton
(April 28, 1932 - September 15, 2014)



Golda “Sharon” Barton, 82, of Huntington, WV, died Monday September 15, 2014 in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Memorial funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, September 20, 2014, at Kuhn Memorial Presbyterian Church, 955 Main St., Barboursville, with Pastor Patrick Ryan officiating. Inurnment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Sharon was born April 28, 1932 in Mt. Hope, WV, a daughter of the late Homer D. and Bertha Franklin White. She worked for the former United Fuel Gas Company and retired as a buyer for United Technology in West Palm Beach, FL. She was a graduate of H.E.H.S in 1949 and a member of the Kuhn Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Barton, two brothers, H. Don White, Jr. & James Doyle White, one sister, Doris Porter and a stepson, Bruce Barton. Survivors include one stepson, Brian Barton of Jupiter, FL, nieces, Carol Jones of Huntington, and Janelle Roy of Port St. Lucie, FL. The family would like to thank the staff at Midland Meadows for all their loving care. Sharon loved being part of a special group of friends called “The Girls”, which includes Anna, Greta, Jeanette, Charlotte, and the late Goldie. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to The Caring and Sharing Fund at Kuhn Memorial Presbyterian Church. Friends may visit at the church after 12:00 noon, Saturday. Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington is assisting the family.
