Gary Allen Evans
(March 22, 1938 - September 1, 2014)



Gary Allen Evans, 76, of Huntington, husband of Betty Jean Napier Evans, God took the love of my life & soul-mate home on Monday September 1, 2014 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday September 6, 2014 at Chapman’s Mortuary, with Ernie Ritchie officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He was born March 22, 1938, in Huntington, a son of the late Bert and Mary Bandy Evans. Family members preceding him in death were a sister, Margie Boggs; and three brothers, Lonnel Evans, Ronald Evans, and Larry Evans. Gary was a pipefitter and welder belonging to the Pipefitters Local 521. In addition to his wife, survivors include a stepson, Timothy James Queen; a living sister and half-brother; half-brother, Billy Vickers of Phoenix, AZ; two special nephews, Paul Hammond, and Larry David Evans; several special nieces; special friends, Pete & Mattie Craig, and brothers of Local 521, and members of the Barboursville Moose Lodge #2586. The family wishes to thank Dr. Gerrit A. Kimmy and his staff at HIMG, and the nurses on the pulmonary unit third floor at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Annie Beck, Amanda Godbey, Christine Janey, Angelica Leonard, and Jerose Rogusky. Friends may call 6:00-8:00 pm Friday at Chapman’s Mortuary.
