Mary Ethel Hutchison
(June 4, 1920 - September 7, 2014)



Mary Ethel Hutchison, 94, of Huntington, WV, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday, September 11, 2014, at Twenty-Sixth Street Baptist Church, Huntington, with Pastor Tim Arthur officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. She was born June 4, 1920 in Mecklenburg, County, NC, a daughter of the late Lawrence B. and Mary Frances Thomas Watkins. Her husband, Leonard W. Hutchison; a brother, Gordon Watkins; and four sisters, Lula Young, Eunice Young, Margie Wilson, and Donna Drown, also preceded her in death. She was a member of Twenty-Sixth Street Baptist Church and the Cabell Wayne Association of the Blind and was a former employee of the Piece Goods Shop. Survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Perry Mason of Huntington; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Julia Hutchison and David and Janet Hutchison, all of Huntington; three grandchildren, and their spouses, Andrew and Whitney Hutchison, Mike Cannon, and Karry and Merrit Davis; six great grandchildren, Grace, Noah, Benjamin, and Joshua Hutchison, and Drake and Regan Davis; three sisters-in-law, Wilma Hutchison of Anaheim, CA, Judy Warner of Columbus, OH, and Dorothy Henson of Huntington; a brother-in-law, Jimmy Drown of Huntington; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington, and after 10:00 am Thursday at the church.
