Obituary

Daniel Joseph "LDB" Ball, 54, of Huntington, WV, passed away October 15, 2017 with family at his side. Born November 14, 1962, the son of the late Glendale Ball and Phyllis Frye Knapp. Danny is survived by his mother and step-father, Charles and Phyllis Knapp of Huntington, his siblings David G. (Yvonne) Ball of Huntington and Jupiter, Fl., Douglas A. Ball of West Palm Beach, Fl., Darrell W. Ball of Huntington and Donna (Bill) Watts of Huntington, his long time Companion, Connie Lafferty, his son Scott Daniel Ball and two grandchildren, many cousins, nephews, nieces, friends and his pets. Danny will be remembered for his sense of humor, being handier than a pocket on a shirt, his stubbornness and his ability to spin a tall tale, the best being convincing his brother that there was a sinkhole in turn 3 at Daytona International Speedway, thus his nickname of "Lying Danny Ball" or LDB. The family would like to thank the many doctors and staff at St. Mary's Hospital and Heritage Center who cared for Danny in his final days. A very special thank you to Yvonne Ball and Billy Adkins for all of their help during his final months. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Church at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 19th, Father Paul Yuenger, Celebrant. Visitation with family and friends will begin at 6 p.m. at the church. Chapman's Mortuary Huntington is assisting the family.
