Obituary



Lisa Ann Copley Dawson, 48, of Lexington, KY, wife of Ronald Dawson, passed away Sunday October 15, 2017, in U K Chandler Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 pm Sunday, October 22, 2017, at Grace Gospel Church. She was born September 30, 1969, in Williamson, WV a daughter of the late Sidney M. Copley and Medria "Mickey" Hopkins Copley. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her, grandparents, Theodore C. and Cordella Banks, Ester and Rebecca Hopkins; and her Great Aunt Arbutus "Boo" Blankenship. Lisa was a 1988 Graduate of Huntington East High School and WV State University. Lisa grew up at Grace Gospel Church under the guidance of the pastor of the deaf, Jim Asbury, but she was a current member of Gardenside Christian Church in Lexington, KY. Lisa is survived by her loving husband of almost seventeen years, Ronald Dawson; her only child, Sidney Maxwell "Max" Dawson; her sister, Christy (Joe) Snyder; her youngest sister, Sydney K. Copley; nephews, J. Garrett Snyder and Grant Snyder; her niece, Claire Snyder; and a host of many beloved family members and faithful friends she loved and cherished so much throughout her short walk on this earth. Lisa was a very out-going and passionate person. She truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures such as talking to her friends all night, watching TV, traveling, spending time with her son, shopping and collecting anything Hello Kitty. Lisa had a special ability to reach people with her genuine smile, her giving heart, and her willingness to help others. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to service time Sunday at the Church. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family.
