Gene Handley
(December 3, 1927 - March 23, 2015)



GENE P. HANDLEY, 87, of Huntington, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015, at his residence. He was born December 3, 1927 in Huntington a son of the late Francis and Regina Handley. He was a retired employee of Allied Chemical of South Point, Ohio. Gene enjoyed his retirement years and his farm and all the wildlife that it provided for him. He was an avid Marshall University supporter, until they sold his seats out from under him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Mae Handley. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Gene M. Handley (Cassandra) of Columbus, Ohio, Geoffrey A. Handley (Maria) of Boca Raton, Florida; two daughters and a son-in-law, Teresa G. Curtis of Charleston, West Virginia, Robin C. Bush (Perry) of Sarasota, Florida; three grandchildren, Virginia Elizabeth Wernet, Seth Handley and Ian Handley; a great-grandchild Dakota Wernet; a sister Sue Rose of Sarasota, Florida; and his loving companion Carolyn Templeton of Chesapeake, Ohio. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Reger Funeral Home, Huntington, is in charge of arrangements.
