Iva McCoy Midkiff
(September 24, 1937 - March 14, 2015)



Iva McCoy Midkiff age 77, of Columbia, SC, went to be with her Heavenly Father on March 14, 2015 at 12:25 PM. She loved and served her Lord for 61 years. She enjoyed going to church, writing poems, songs and reading and studying her Bible. Iva was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was very special to all who knew her and she will be missed more than words could say. She attended Heavenly View Church in Winston Salem, NC for 23 years and taught Sunday School. The past year she attended Pentecostals of Columbia, Columbia, SC. Iva was born September 24, 1937 in Mingo County, Delbarton, WV a daughter of the late Fred McCoy, Sr. and Carrie Jed McCoy. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by four brothers Buddy McCoy, Hairm McCoy, Earl McCoy and Fred McCoy, Jr.; one sister Loretta; her husband Virgil Midkiff and son Marshall Trent and a life long friend of over 45 years Hester Martin. Survivors include a daughter Darlene Joy Midkiff of Columbia, SC; two sons Eugene Wayne Midkiff (Mandy) of Columbia, SC and Roger Kent Midkiff (Linda) of Arkansas; three grandsons Kevin Ray Midkiff of Columbia, SC and fiancé Lynnae Green of Beaufort, SC and Jamie and Jesse Pack of Portland, Oregon; six sisters Ruby Cook of Dayton, Ohio, Ruth Chapman of Holly Ridge, NC; Wanda Eskins of Ashland, KY; Hazel (Jack) Chapman of Huntington, Geneva (Bud) Fields of Ceredo and Rebecca Whitt of Kenova; two brothers Cecil (Fran) McCoy of Craigsville, WV and Russell (Liddie) McCoy of Jonesville, VA and a host of nephews and nieces and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Thursday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by her brother Russell McCoy and by Pastor Eddie Gandy. Burial will follow in Docks Creek Cemetery, Maple Hill Section, Kenova, WV. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Home.
