Obituary



Ferdinando "Fred" Chianesi, 95, of Huntington, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. A Funeral Liturgy will be conducted by Fr. Charles McGinnis and Msgr. Dean Borgmeyer on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 1:30 pm. A Rite of Committal will be held on Sunday at 1:30 pm at Woodmere Memorial Park. Fred was born on December 2, 1922 in Calabria, Italy the son of the late Domenico and Rosaria Pelle Chianesi. He was an extruder operator for Novamont Chemical Inc., and was a union member of OCAW. He was also a member of the Sons of Italy and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Caterina Morabito Chianesi; one brother, Rosario Chianesi; and one sister, Caterina Seminara; a daughter-in-law, Nan Jane Callison Chianesi. He is survived by his sister, Maria Nigro; his son, Domenico Chianesi; five grandchildren, Caterina, Ferdinando “Nando”, Christina, Maria, and Domenico II; two step granddaughters, Kathryn and Amy; twelve great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington, 1101 6th Ave. Huntington, WV 25701.
