Obituary



Nora Ann Thornburg, 78, of Huntington, WV wife of Terry Thornburg the love of her life and her soul mate passed away at her residence on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. She was a caring, loving wife, mother and grandmother. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 1:00pm at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Greg Lucas. Burial will follow at Golden Oaks Cemetery, Ashland, KY. Nora graduated from Vinson High School with the class of 1957 and attended Marshall University. She began working for her father at a young age at Chandler's Plywood Products and continued working there becoming a part owner until her retirement. During her retirement she enjoyed her winters in Ft. Pierce Florida with a host of wonderful friends and visits from family. Fort Pierce is where she attended Lakewood Park Methodist Church; in Huntington she was a former member and elder of the Spring Valley Presbyterian Church. Nora was born on June 13, 1939 in Ashland, KY the daughter of the late Denvil and Louise Walters Chandler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her grandson Adam Joseph Hayton. Additional survivors include her three daughters: Angela (Gary )Frye, Tracy ( Rich) Hayton and Kim ( Greg) Lucas; grandchildren Britt ( Alyssa) Frye, Nikki ( Corey) Steffy, Sarah (Tanner) Sparling, Sean Hayton, Jacob Lucas, Noah Lucas, Aaron Lucas and Nora Hope Lucas; great grandchildren Raelyn and Wyatt Steffy and Camilla Sparling; two sisters: Mary Jo (Dick) Thompson, Peggy (Raymond) Pollard, two brothers: Henry (Kathy) Chandler, Denny (Zee) Chandler. Many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and a special friend Bernice Reed survive her as well. Nora will be remembered in the hearts of those she loved best, for her devotion to her family, whom she gathered for large Sunday dinners and holiday meals. In her final years she found strength and peace through spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
