Obituary



Bob Cook, 71, of Huntington, went home to be with Our Lord on April 13, 2018 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington, following a long illness due to Agent Orange. Bob was born October 25, 1946, the middle son of the late Helen Umstead Cook and Joseph William Cook. He was a 1964 graduate of Huntington High School and earned an associate degree in business. Bob enlisted in the US Army at seventeen years old and spent ten years in Vietnam, both as an enlisted soldier with the 101st Airborne (Screaming Eagles) and over seven more years as a US Government contractor, Bob worked for the Chessie System (Huntington), Boeing Aircraft (Witchita, KS) and retired from Yellow Cab (Huntington) where he worked as a driver and a manager. Bob is survived by his wife Nannie M. Means Cook of Huntington, daughter Ginger Martin (Roger) of Huntington, daughter Tammy Sowards of Vincent, Ohio, as well as five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchildren. He is also survived by his two brothers Joseph Cook, Jr. of Huntington and John Cook (Paula) of Durham, NC. In his passing the world has lost a great, brave and loving man. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 PM Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Home by Pastor Kevin West. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton, WV.
