ESTA MARIE BRAGG
(August 10, 1933 - September 15, 2016)



ESTA MARIE BRAGG, 83, of Chesapeake, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at her home. Born August 10, 1933, at Tesla, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Nora Keener Barnette and was also preceded in death by her husbands, Ivan Harris and Elsworth Bragg; sisters, Ruth Augustine Kuhlken and Kathleen Barnette; brothers, Laley, Darrell, Howard, Arthur and Claude Barnette; and grandson, Rodney Harris. Esta was a member of Stump Chapel Church of Tesla, and also Sybene Independent Missionary Baptist Church, which she loved. She is survived by daughters, Patricia Newton-Frasher of Huntington and Donna Jean Medina of Chesapeake, Ohio, who was her caregiver; sons, Roger (Ella) Harris of Newport News, Va., and John (Carol) Harris of Huntington; stepchildren, Steven Bragg and Charlie Bragg, both of Taylor, Mich., John Bragg of Proctorville, Ohio, Janice Wilson of Farming Hills, Mich., Lynda Jean of Flatrock, Mich., and Donna Phelps of Flatrock, Mich.; brother, James K. (Susan) Barnette of Cordiova, Tenn.; sister, Vesta Coffman of Inverness, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; and many special nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2016, at Sybene Independent Missionary Baptist Church, South Point, Ohio, by Pastor Jason Harris and Pastor D.L. Webb. Burial will be in Cox Cemetery, Little Birch, W.Va. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers, she requested donations to Sybene Independent Missionary Baptist Church. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, is in charge of arrangements.
