Maude Atkins, 96, of Fayetteville, GA, formerly of Huntington, widow of Herschel W. Atkins, passed away Saturday February 21, 2009, in Southern Regional Hospital, Riverdale, GA. Funeral services will be conducted 12:30 PM Thursday February 26, 2009, at Chapman's Mortuary, with the Rev. Benny Cole, Bishop Norman Mills, and Pastor Edwin S. Harper officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. She was born October 4, 1912 in Lawrence County, OH, a daughter of the late Cal and Emma Brumfield. She had a sister and brother also precede her in death. She was the former owner operator of Maude's Grocery, and former member of New Beginning Apostolic Church. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Betty Jo and Lawrence T. Graham of Fayetteville, GA; grandson, Gregory Graham and spouse, Brenda of Fairburn, GA; granddaughter, Linda Gail Brown and spouse, Larry of Stockbridge, GA; five great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren. Friends may call 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday and after 10:30 AM Thursday, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington.
