Helen M. Wetherholt of Winter Springs, FL, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 15. She was born March 27, 1919, in Clay County, WV and was the fourth of fourteen children born to Perry and Lillie Rood. At the age of 18 she married Wm. Earl Wetherholt to whom she was married 65 years. She and Earl spent the majority of their life together living in Huntington, WV, but do to health-related problems moved to Winter Springs, FL in 2000. In earlier years, Helen enjoyed bowling, cooking and baking for her family and friends. It was said by many that her cakes and pies just melted in your mouth! She also enjoyed working in her garden and loved flowers of all kinds. Helen was a member of the Rebecca Lodge and also a life time member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Huntington. She was a very kind, generous and loving person who will be missed by all who knew her. Helen leaves behind two brothers and one sister " Jon Rood (Faith) of TN, Ferrell Rood (Nancy) of OH, and Dorothy Rood of OH; two children " Bill Wetherholt (Blanche) of OH and Dolores Waller (Bill) of FL; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and many extended family members and friends. Mom, we will all miss you terribly and even though our hearts are saddened and our eyes our filled with tears, we are happy just knowing you are now at peace with Jesus and free of all pain. It eases our sorrow just knowing this is not a permanent "goodbye" but only a "short separation" until we're together again. Services will be held at Chapman's Mortuary in Huntington, WV, on Friday, February 20. Visitation will be held at 9:30 am until service time at 11:00 at Chapman's. Pastor Ferrell Rood will preside over the services. Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
