Forrest Bowen
April 17, 1949 - January 23 2009
Mr. James Forrest "Sonny" Bowen, JR, 59, of
Huntington, a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, went to
be with his Lord, Friday, January 23, 2009 at his residence. Funeral
services will be conducted at 11:00am, Wednesday January 28, 2009 at
Chapman's Mortuary, with Rev. Tim Arthur officiating. Burial will be in
Ridgelawn Memorial Park. He was born April 17, 1949, at Huntington, a son of
James Forrest Bowen, SR and Virginia Young Bowen, of Huntington. He was a
retired first class tool and die maker with Adel Fasteners. He was a proud
member of Steel Workers Union, local 4014, and a member of 26th Street
Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 40
years, Pamela White Bowen; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Forrest Andrew and
Dawn Bowen, of Bridgeport, WV, James Todd and Faustina Bowen, of Pt.
Pleasant, WV; 5 grandchildren, Jacob, Isabella, Brody, and Brooklyne Bowen,
Owen Chafin; 2 step grandchildren. Garrett and Grant Safford; a sister and
brother-in-law, Sheila and David Byrd, of Huntington; mother-in-law, June
Joyce of So. Point, OH, Sister-in-law, Janie Evans of Huntington; 2
brothers-in-law and spouses, Perry and Vicki Joyce of Cincinnati, OH, and
Kevin and Debbie Joyce of So. Point, OH, special nieces, Amy Maynard, Kathy
Persinger, Carrie Fuller, and Amber Evans; and a host of loving relatives
and friends. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Mickey
Newsome, Raymond Aliff, Penny Clagg, and Penny Byrd, and the Hospice team
for their loving care. Friends may call at Chapman's Mortuary from 6 pm
until 8 pm Tuesday, January 27, 2009.
