Richard A. Hynus
April 7, 1929 - January 29, 2009



Richard A. Hynus, 79, of Huntington, WV, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2009, in Cabell Huntington Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, February 1, 2009, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Huntington, with the Reverend Brian Nunnally, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. He was born April 7, 1929 in Columbus, OH a son of the late Oscar and Mary Moulton Hynus. Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Don Hynus and Joe Hynus. He was a retired electrical foreman with the former INCO and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a charter member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. Survivors include: his wife, Joann Fischer Hynus; a daughter, June Elizabeth Glass of Louisville, KY; two sons, who were both former Marshall University Football players, and two daughters-in-law, Jim and Anita Hynus of Apex, NC and Bill and Nancy Hynus of Mebane, NC; five grandchildren, Nicole Rice and her husband, Sean of Asheville, NC, Ashley Lindsey and her husband, Charles of Wilmington, NC, Jennifer Glass of Louisville, KY, and Cassie Hynus and Zac Hynus, both of Apex, NC; a sister-in-law, Florence Hynus of Huntington; and a brother-in-law, Sam Fischer of Wayne, WV. Friends may call from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Saturday, January 31, 2009, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, and after 1:00 PM Sunday at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Christ the King Lutheran Church, 5700 Route 60 East, Huntington, WV 25705.
