Hazel Byrd Hutchinson

Hazel Byrd Hutchinson, 79, of Huntington, passed away Friday January 16, 2009, at her residence. She was born September 7, 1929 in Cabell County, WV, a daughter of the late Welza and Lestie Helen Wintz Byrd. Others preceding her in death were her three husbands, John Pennington, Don Hughes, and Kenneth Paul Hutchinson; a daughter, Ruby Pennington; and two sons, Robert Hughes and Rick Hughes. She was retired from the Huntington State Hospital after 20 years service as a Health Service Worker, and a member of First Guyandotte Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Don Miller of Kenna, WV; two sisters, Ruby Reynolds of Huntington, and Estella Black of Kenova, WV; a brother and sister-in-law, Welza Byrd, Jr., and Betty Byrd of Milton, WV; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday January 18, 2009, at Chapman's Mortuary with Pastor Brian Schneider officiating. Grandsons will serve, as pallbearers and burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Friends may call one hour prior to services on Sunday at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington.
