Garland Kent Ferris
June 27, 1959 - January 2, 2009

 Garland "Kent" Ferris, 49, of Minneola, FL, and formerly of Proctorville, OH, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2009 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted 2 PM on Saturday, January 10, 2009, at First Church of the Nazarene, Third Avenue and 30th Street, Huntington, with Dr. Mark Sartin officiating. Kent was born on June 27, 1959 in Huntington, WV, son of Dan and Phyllis Adkind Ferris of Minneola, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Paulette Price Ferris who died in 2007, grandparents, Garland and Virginia Ferris of Huntington, WV and Clifford and Leona Adkins of Lancaster, OH. He loved his family, friends, fishing, hunting, sunsets, the Lord and many simple things of life that others may let pass by unnoticed. Survivors include his parents, Dan and Phyllis Ferris, of Minneola, FL, one sister and brother-in-law, Sheila and Tim Dial of Minneola, FL, one nephew and his wife, Todd and Megan Dial of Ft. Myers, FL and, one niece, Brittany Dial of Minneola, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the family to assist with funeral expenses. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
