Hyman Smith

Hyman Smith, 84, of Huntington, WV, died Wednesday, February 2, 2011, in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, February 5, 2011, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. William Demoss and Rev. Steven Hamrick officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. Hyman was born August 11, 1926 in Logan County, WV a son of the late Walter Smith and Margie Hager Smith. He was a retired Counselor / Coach from the Cabell County Board of Education, U.S. Army veteran of WW II and Navy veteran serving in the Korean War and a member of the Community of Grace United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife Dorothy M. Smith; two daughters Cynthia Wright of Redlands, CA, and Donna Hurd Smith of Milwaukee, WI; one son David Smith of Huntington; four grandchildren Mackenzie Smith of Huntington, Lauren Gregory, Jared and Cedric Wright all of CA; one sister Velma Toothman of Barboursville; and one brother Wayne Smith of Akron, OH.
