Dorothy Mae Jeffers Spurlock

Dorothy Mae Jeffers Spurlock, 85, of Huntington, WV, went to be with the Lord Saturday, February 12, 2011, in St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. George Surgeon officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Lesage, WV. She was born October 12, 1925 in Huntington, WV a daughter of the late Sylvestor and Maggie Nance Jeffers. Her husband, Fred Underwood; three daughters, Betty Jordan, Gladys Jenkins, and Lilly Eplion; and a son, Lonzo Underwood, also preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and was a member of Lawrence Chapel. Survivors include: two daughters, Peggy Adkins of Milton, WV and Patty Mullins of Huntington; a son, Frank Underwood, of Huntington; four sons-in-law, Robert Jordan, Samuel Jenkins, John Adkins, and Jack Ransbottom; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Underwood; 22 grandchildren, including two special grandchildren, Franky and Katie; 52 great grandchildren; and 29 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, February 14, 2011, at Chapman's Mortuary.
