Michael Andrew Sorrell

Michael Andrew Sorrell


Michael Andrew Sorrell, 62, of Lesage, WV., died Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at his residence. He was born January 21, 1960, in Phoenix, AZ., a son of the late Gerald Cecil and Wanda Lee Engle Sorrell. In addition to his parents, he had two brothers precede him in death, Gerald Wayne Sorrell and Gregory Keith Sorrell. Michael graduated from Barboursville High School in 1977 and served a stint in the United States Navy. After returning to Lesage, he became a master plumber and worked construction throughout the country. He recently retired from Local 1353, West Virginia Laborers' Union and was looking forward to remodeling his house and traveling. Survivors include his children, Michael Austin Sorrell, Andrea Nicole Sorrell and Kellye Paige Sorrell and many grandchildren; two brothers, Vernon Douglas Baisden of Huntington, and Laroy Curtis "Mick" Baisden and wife, Debbie Vering of Albuquerque, NM. He was also attached to his former step-daughters, Alyssa Blankenship, Melanie, Katie and Chloe Wise of Huntington. He was well-known and well-loved in the community and will be sorely missed. There will be a Remembrance Service for Mike on Monday, May 9, 2022 at 5:00 PM at The Red Tail Barn, Caldwell Farms, 6815 co 19/3, Huntington, WV 25702, (Left fork Merrick's Creek Road) Chapman's Mortuary is assisting the family.
