Thomas Edwin Huston
(August 11, 1933 - November 18, 2022)
Thomas Edwin "Eddie" Huston, 89, of
Huntington, beloved husband of 67 years to Peggy Ann Bowling Richmond
Huston, died Friday, November 18, 2022 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice
House. He was born August 11, 1933 in Talcott, Summers County, WV., a son of
the late John Robert and Eleanor Louise Snead Huston. Other family that has
preceded him in death were a brother, Willie Carol "Bill" Huston and a
son-in-law, Michael Lee Gregg. Eddie was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served
on the USS Eldorado as a communications operator. He was a former telegraph
operator for the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad and retired from CSX Railroad
as a clerk, having over 40 years' service with the railroad. Eddie obtained
a Master's Degree in Education from Marshall University. He was a former
teacher and coach of basketball at Rose Hill Christian School in Kentucky,
and was a substitute teacher in Cabell, Lincoln, and Wayne counties in West
Virginia. Eddie was a minister for Huntington Gospel Chapel for over 30
years, was Director of the West Virginia Bible Conference, In addition to
his wife, Peggy, whom he married in Hinton, WV on November 22, 1955,
survivors include his two daughters, Linda Dawn Huston Gregg of Huntington,
and April Suzanne Huston of Dubuque, Iowa; a son, Daniel Edwin Huston of St.
Paul, Minn; two brothers, John Robert Huston, Jr., of Raleigh, NC., and
Franklin Delano Huston of Keystone Heights, FL; five grandchildren, Nathan
Perry, John Perry and his wife, Maci Perry, Kindra Perry, Roman Perry, and
Noah Perry; and five great grandchildren, Mason, Kinslee, Maddix, Vinney,
and Lorenzo. Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 PM Tuesday, November
22, 2022 at Chapman's Mortuary with Brother Darrell Adkins, Dr. Walied
Gharib, and Rev. Billy Napier officiating, with daughter Linda giving the
eulogy. Burial with military rites conducted by Veterans Honor Guard Post 16
will be at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Friends may visit
after 12:30 PM Tuesday at Chapman's Mortuary.
