Obituary

Amber Leigh Stewart
(November 15, 1960 - November 12, 2022)

Amber Leigh Stewart

On Saturday, November 12th, 2022, Amber Stewart, loving wife, stepmother, daughter, and sister passed away at the age of 61. Amber lived heroically and with a continued zest for life throughout her time with cancer. She was a true warrior. Amber was born on November 15th, 1960, to Charles and Joyce Stewart. She grew up in Huntington, West Virginia where she graduated from Barboursville High School and later went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts degree at Marshall University. Her love and enthusiasm for Marshall football never wavered. For 38 years, Amber dedicated her knowledge and skills to her career at WSAZ, News Channel 3. It was there that she created countless friendships and memories; those of which she spoke of often and with great fondness. Amber's charismatic and quick-witted spirit captured the hearts of all that knew her. She had an astounding ability to connect with others and share herself in a way that undoubtedly made anyone feel special. Amber was a cooking-show enthusiast who loved coloring, adventuring and laughing with her wife, spoiling her dogs, and spending time with her sassy good friend and neighbor, Charlotte Sinkewitz. Amber was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Wigal Stewart. She is survived by her best friend and wife of 18 years, Jennifer Rogal, her daughters Jamie Rogal and Rachel Rogal-Smith, her father Charles Stewart, sister Valerie Stewart and nephews Nick Stewart and William Roys, and sister Jill Hamilton, niece Lilli Hamilton, and nephew Charles Hamilton. A sincere and heartfelt thank you to Amber's entire medical team at Cabell Huntington Hospital and all those who dedicated their love and compassion throughout her treatment journey. A celebration of her life service will take place at 4:30 Wednesday at Chapman's Mortuary. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
