James Roy Manis
(September 30, 1947 - February 5, 2013)



James Roy Manis passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Rev. David Lemming. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park. James was a retired Locomotive Engineer with the CSX Rail Road and a veteran of the US Army having served in the Viet Nam War. He was a member of BLET Local 190, Life member of DAV and VFW Post 1064 and a graduate of Vinson High School. James was born on September 30, 1947 in Cabell County, WV the son of the late Roy James and Welthie Marie Evans Manis. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Ronnie Lee Manis; brother in law Roger Ball and father in law James A. Anderson. James is survived by his wife Jeannie Manis; two daughters and sons in law Angel and Brian Curry and Robyn and Chris Camden all of Huntington; three sisters and two brothers in law Shelia and Larry Kyle of Huntington, Donnie Ball of Lavalette, WV and Connie and Steve Schumacher of Westerville, Ohio; brother and sister in law Gary and Dianna Manis of Greensboro, NC; mother in law Margaret Anderson of Gainesville, FL,; brother in law and sister in law Curtis and Roxanne Anderson of Gainesville, FL. and sister in law Joyce Collier of Molton, Al.; eight grandchildren Micaela and Meagan Camden, Erica, Emily and Evan Foley, Maggie, McKenzie and Madison Curry; his special princess “Daisy” and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from noon until 1:00 pm Friday at the Reger Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society, DAV, Little Victories or the charity of one’s choice.
