Obituary
On February 16, 2013,
Virginia Belle Hite Mylar,
almost 101 years young, left her home on Earth and was ushered peacefully
and joyfully into Eternity by her Lord, Jesus Christ. Virginia was born
March 3, 1912 in Wayne County, WV a daughter of the late L.G. “Elza” and
Cora Bell Floyd Hite and was raised in the Huntington, WV area. She met her
husband, Ralph, the love of her life, at Huntington High School. She worked
for the Mylar’s License Service for many years, but the joy of her life was
her Church, the Madison Avenue Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and
the folks she knew there. She served in many ways, teacher of the Loyal
Women’s Class, leader of the youth work, Deaconess and in various capacities
in the Christian Women’s Fellowship. She was greatly appreciative of the
many opportunities her Church provided her. She always had a kind word to
say about everyone. She was active in the Church Women United group in
Huntington. Virginia greatly enjoyed celebrating her 100th birthday in March
of 2012 with her large family and friends. It was a very special day and all
enjoyed the celebration and telling her how special she had been to her
family and friends. She was a resident at Madison Park and passed away at
the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. The family was greatly
appreciative of the loving care she received by the staff at these places.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ralph C.
Mylar; sons Ralph Edward Mylar and Charles Irwin Mylar; brothers James
Morgan Hite, Richard Hite, Russell Hite; twin sisters Ruby Evans and Ruth
Bentley and sister Ella Bea Berisford. She leaves behind her brothers Rev.
Raymond Harold (Caroline) Hite and Paul (Blanch) Hite; daughters Joann Mylar
(William) Chambers and Henriella Mylar (A. Michael) Perry. She is the proud
grandmother of 10 grandchildren and Great Grandmother of 17 Great
Grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many
friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Tuesday at the Madison
Avenue Christian Church by Pastor Jamie Gump. Burial will follow in
Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Monday
at the Reger Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to the Madison Avenue
