Edna May Pyles
(November 26, 1924 - February 12, 2013)



Edna May Pyles (Tiny), 88, of Shoals, W. Va., passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013, at her home, after a two-year battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born November 26, 1924 in Belle Vernon, Pa., a daughter of the late George and Malvina Saxon Wilding. She was preceded in death by her husband Garrel L. Pyles, an infant son, a granddaughter and son-in-law, Bob Brashear. She is survived by three daughters Beverly Brashear of Belle Vernon, Pa., Marlene Thacker (Dallas) and Darlene Day (Kevin) of Huntington, W. Va., and one son Garrel L. Pyles, Jr. (Rhonda) also of Huntington, W. Va. She is the grandmother of Robin Brashear-Youger, Kelly Brashear (Michelle), Danielle Thacker Stewart (Hal), Jordan Thacker, Garry Lee Pyles (Tina) and Elizabeth Pyles, great-grandmother of eleven and great-great-grandmother of one. Tiny was a former employee of the Wayne County Board of Education working at Buffalo High School, she was also a charter member of Shoals Missionary Baptist Church. Per Tiny’s request there will be no public services, after cremation a private service will take place at a later date. The family would like to express sincere appreciation to our sister, Darlene, for the years of loving care and attention she gave to our Mother.
