Marion Joyce Adkins
(November 6, 1943 - September 5, 2014)



Marion Joyce Adkins, 70, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 5, 2014. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm Monday, September 8, 2014 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by Pastor Charlie Norris. Burial will be in Bowen Cemetery. She was born November 6, 1943 in Wayne County, WV, a daughter of the late Ivan Adkins and Ida May Porter Adkins Thacker. She was a former employee of St. Mary's Hospital after twenty-one years of service and was a member of Freedom Independent Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Tiffany Nicole Adkins, one sister, Virginia May Nicely, and one brother, Allen Adkins. She is survived by her husband, Charley Eugene Adkins; one daughter, Ida Adkins Parker and her husband Tate of South Carolina; two sons, Charley Chuck Adkins Jr. and his companion Denise Myers of Wayne, WV, and Randy Allen Adkins and his wife Loretta of Huntington; three sisters, Phyllis (Eldon) Nicely of Barboursville, Betty Adkins of Barboursville and Debbie (Chuck) Mace of Wayne County; three brothers, Rick (Phyllis) Adkins of Chesapeake, OH, Gary (Tanya) Adkins of Huntington and Earl Adkins of Barboursville; nine grandchildren, Justin, Jeremy, Courtney, Ethan, Joshua, Toshia, Brittany, Brent and Breanna; and four great grandchildren, Jamie, Colton, Jayden, and Braxton. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Sunday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
