Obituary

Linda Lou Black
(July 12, 1943 - September 10, 2014)

Linda Lou Black, 71, of Barboursville, died Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at home. She was born July 12, 1943, in Huntington. She was the wife of the late Carl Edward Black and the daughter of the late Naomi Lee and Joseph Elwood Wallace. Linda graduated from Barboursville High School in 1961. She worked as a cook for Huntington State Hospital and had been retired for many years. She was a loving sister, mother, grandmother and was looking forward to the birth of her first great-grandchild in November. Sadly, she was taken from us all much too soon. Linda is survived by her brother, Robert Joseph Wallace and his wife Gloria; her two children, Lucinda Sue Blevins and Joseph Michael Cazad; five grandchildren: Raymond Michael Blevins, Joseph Lee Blevins, Sarah Raye Blevins, all of Barboursville, Michael Shane Cazad and Shelby Rae Cazad of Texas; four nephews: Arden Keith Sansom, of Berkeley, CA, Jason Scott Sansom, of St. Mary's, GA, Robert Michael Wallace and Brian Keith Wallace, of Barboursville; two dear friends, Drema Nance, her wife Teressa Ramey, and their two-year old nephew, Caleb, who had adopted Linda as his special Granny. Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Zella Marie Sansom and her first husband, Michael Joseph Cazad. An informal graveside service will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Beale Chapel Cemetery in Ashton, WV. Her daughter will give a brief eulogy, and family and friends will be given the opportunity to say a few words about Linda if they wish. Friends and family are invited to a gathering to be held at her and her daughters home after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington. Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville is assisting with arrangements.
