Obituary

Alex Evans Jr.
(December 13, 1935 - April 19, 2016)

Alex Evans Jr., 80, of Huntington, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. He was born December 13, 1935 in Holden, W.Va., a son of the late Alex Sr. and Martha Sheppard Evans. He is also preceded in death by five brothers, Basil, Freddy, Ira, Eddie and Alvin Evans; two sisters, Shirlene Parsley and Freda Ooten and one grandson Rocky. He is survived by his loving wife Violet Finley Evans; one daughter, Michelle Sullivan (Rock) of Barboursville; two sons, Walter Alex Evans of Huntington and Larry Evans (Tami) of Scott Depot, W.Va.; one brother, Elijah Evans; one sister, Betty McCoy; three grandchildren, Amy, Hailey and Morgan; and five great-grandchildren, Candice Mae, Ski, Ethan, Jacob and Trey. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville with Pastor Buddy Muncy officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service.
