ObituaryJudith Ann Slack
Judith Ann Slack, 66, of Lebanon, OR, passed away peacefully at the Hospice House in Albany, OR comforted by her family and friends on April 22, 2016. Judith was born October 31, 1949 in Charleston, WV, to the late Thomas E. and Willa A. Slack. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Matthew & Molly Slack; grandsons Weston Champe Slack and Everett Roeland Slack of Lebanon, OR; sisters, Sandra Bell (Leon) of KY and Mary Ross (David) of WV. She is also survived by: nieces, Barbara Blanton (Gary), Beth Ross; nephews, Scott Bell (DeeDee), Tommy Bell (Beverly), David Ross, II (Laura), Thomas Ross (Ashley) as well as many nieces and nephews and other noted family members: Nancy McMullen, Michelle and Dennis Salyers, David, Jenny, Kristi and Chris Lilly. She was a special nanny for Jett, Cannon and Jené Booker of Houston, TX. She happily spent the last 6 years in Oregon being "Nan" to her precious grandsons. She was graduated from Huntington East High School and studied at Marshall University. Judith had a very successful career of 29 years with the Social Security Administration in WV, VA, OH and PA where she dedicated her life serving the American public. She held many positions including Regional Public Affairs Specialist and retired as the District Manager of the Suffolk, VA office. Judith was a kind, caring person with a great sense of humor. She put others before herself and would step in to help whenever she saw a need. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2016 at Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville, WV and after 11 a.m. Tuesday. A Celebration of Life will be conducted 12 p.m. noon Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. Dr. Roger L. Smith and the Rev. Dr. Arthur L. Bennett III. Burial will be at Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans, WV at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice, 1046 6th Avenue SW, Albany, OR 97321.
