Obituary

Harold Stephen Curry
(December 8, 2018)

HAROLD STEPHEN CURRY of Barboursville, W.Va., died on December 8, 2018, at home. His mindset and adamant statements were to be able to die at home. He was 74 years of age and the son of Harold H. and Ina C. Curry. An infant sister, Sheila Lynn Curry, had preceded him in death. He is survived by one sister, Pamela K. Curry, also of Barboursville. Steve was a decorated Vietnam Marine. He received the Purple Heart as well as other medals. Even being severely wounded and having to live disabled, he truly loved his country. He was so very happy to get to come home and to be at home. He thought that each day was to be enjoyed. His heart pain had been so great since our Mom passed away. He and Mom were very best friends. She had been his anchor and especially since his time in Vietnam and afterwards. Steve and I have been so thankful for the help of our special cousins, Neal Adkins and Jim Spurlock, and for our good friend, Trish Ferguson. He was a Baptist by faith. It was his wish that there would be no visitation or funeral. Any service will be private. He requested there would be no flowers. He will be buried beside our Mom in the Veteran's section in White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville, W.Va. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
