Ruth E. Watts
(October 19, 1935 - December 23, 2018)


RUTH ELIZABETH WATTS, 83, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018, in St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born October 19, 1935, in Kanawha County, W.Va., the daughter of the late Rev. Bernie Johnson and Elise Johnson. She worked at St. Mary's Hospital as an LPN nurse until she retired. Sadly she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. "Bob" Watts, her oldest son, Richard J. "Rick" Watts, and her youngest grandson, Brian S. Watts, also an infant sister and four brothers, James, Paul, Willie Johnson and Johnny August. She is survived by her son, Michael A. (Vickie) Watts of Barboursville, W.Va.; daughter, V. Gail (Terry) Whitley; foster son, Craig Pike of Florida; brother, Charles Johnson of Lexington, Ky.; two sisters, Genevieve Minner of Melbourne, Fla., and Deloris Workman of Charleston, W.Va.; six grandsons, Scott (Crystal), Joe (Jessica), Chris (Stella) Watts, Phillip (Deanna), Tim (Andrea), Rob (Amanda) Whitley;17 great-grandchildren; and a very dear, special friend, Marlene Earls. The family would like to thank Susie, Morgan, John and Courtney from St. Mary's ICU for their wonderful care of our loved one. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2018, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, with Rev. Greg Creasy officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service on Friday.
