Naomi Lucille Bird
(July 8, 1924 - June 6, 2009)


Naomi Lucille Bird, 84, of Huntington, WV, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2009, in St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born July 8, 1924 in Cabell County, WV, a daughter of the late William Henry Langdon, Sr. and Mabel Augusta King Langdon. Also preceding her in death was a brother, William Henry Langdon, Jr. Naomi was a legal secretary having worked for Appalachian Life Insurance Company and retired from the Huntington Credit Bureau. She was a member of Cox Landing United Methodist Church and was a proud supporter of the Brothers of the Wheel MC. Survivors include: a daughter, Mary Ann Bates of Huntington; a son, Jim Bird and his wife, Sara Gene of Huntington; three grandchildren, Tara Elizabeth Martinez, Wade Henry Bird and his wife, Jessica, and Charity Lucille Bird; four great grandchildren, Aspen Mercedes Bird, Vanessa Antoinette Bird, Adrian Dartangian Bird, and Haily Lane Bird; a step granddaughter, Laura Gene Tipton; a step grandson, Michael Shawn Tipton, and a step great granddaughter, Emma Gene Barnette. Funeral services will be conducted 12:30 PM Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Rev. Julia Bolling officiating. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. Pallbearers will be Jim Bird, Wade Henry Bird, Michael Tipton, Paul Knight, Jr., Grover Kingery, and Jim Jackson.
