Lonnel Evans
(December 15, 1936 - June 1, 2009)


Mr. Lonnel L. Evans, 72, of Huntington, husband of Betty L. Jacobs Evans, passed away Monday, June 1, 2009 at St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday June 4, 2009 at Chapman's Mortuary, with Ernie Ritchie officiating. Entombment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He was born December 15, 1936 in Cabell County, a son of the late Bert and Mary Virginia Bandy Evans. He was a retired owner/operator trucker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister, Ronald William Evans, Larry Evans and Marjorie Boggs. In addition to his wife, he is survived by 3 daughters; Sheila (Gerald) Hart, Ocieanna (Bill) Insco, both of Huntington, Annette (Roger) Evans of Lesage, 2 sons; Paul Hammond of Huntington and Lonnie, Jr. (Cheryl ) Evans, of Huntington, 3 brothers and a sister-in-law, Gary (Betty) Evans of Huntington, Billie Vickers of California, Jackie Vickers of Apple Grove, WV, Kay (Charles) McCreery of Crown City, Oh; 13 grandchildren,; Billie Insco, Dirk Shoemaker, Bethany (Daniel) Hanna, Drew Evans, Chad Evans, Katie (Tyler) Copley, and Amber Shafer, all of Huntington, Paul (Jennifer) Insco, Johnathan Insco, all of St. Albans, WV, Carrie (Joel) Fornal, of Conn., Nikkie (Bill) Sierra, of Alabama, and Annie (Matt) Adkins of Lavalette, WV, Valerie (Scott) Bruce of OH., and 15 Great-grandchildren. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Friends may call at Chapman's Mortuary from 6 pm until 8 pm Wednesday June 3, 2009.
