John David Batson
(May 3, 1969 - November 14, 2009)


John David Batson, 40, of Huntington, WV and formerly of Worthington, WV, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Cabell Huntington, Hospital. He was born May 3, 1969 at Morgantown, WV a son of Gerald Vincent Batson of Worthington and the late Sue Harrison Batson. In addition to his father, he is survived by a step sister, Rebecca Goff of Ice's Run, Fairmont; nephew, Matthew Harris; niece, Amanda Harris; and two cousins, James Ronald Batson of Metz and Ronald Aubrey Batson of Worthington. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James Oscar and Martha Olive Batson. John was disabled all of his life but enjoyed everyday. He attended various schools throughout the years. He enjoyed shopping and dining out with his father. He had a passion for the local fire departments where he lived. He volunteered at Green Valley, Kenova, and Rome Township (Ohio) Volunteer Fire Departments. He loved playing basketball and had many friends that he enjoyed spending time with. Cremation will be the final disposition. Inurnment will be at the Elizabeth Mason Cemetery at Joetown, Mannington, WV beside of his mother. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, is in charge of arrangements.
