John Craig Runyon

John Craig Runyon, 53, of Barboursville, WV, husband of Valerie Maynard Runyon, passed away Friday November 27, 2009 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was born August 18, 1956 in Holden, Logan County, WV, a son of Roxie Mae Lambert Runyon of Delbarton, WV, and the late Arthur Runyon. John was a U.S. Army veteran and had worked for Kroger in his early years, moved on to work in the prison system as a guard in both Florida and West Virginia, and most recently was a customer service agent for United Airlines at Mileage Plus in Barboursville. He attended Farmdale Church of Christ, Barboursville. Additional survivors include his mother-in-law, Freda Maynard of Barboursville; father-in-law, Dorsey Maynard of Rio Grande, OH; step children, Chasity and spouse Chris Martinez of Chesapeake, OH, Amber and spouse Charles Turner of Milton, and Christina and spouse Bobby Wendell of Ona; a sister, Tracey Hughes of Charleston; and seven grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor James Maynard officiating. Burial with military graveside rites will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Friends may call after 1:00 PM Monday at Chapman's Mortuary.
