Dr. Rosalia C. "Sally" Galvez
(September 4, 1923 - August 4, 2013)



Dr. Rosalia G. “Sally” Galvez, 84, of Huntington, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. She was born September 4, 1928 in Manila, Philippines, the daughter of the late Jose and Marciana Ugot Cenon. Her late husband, attorney, Francisco “Frank”, V. Galvez, Jr., and three sisters and a brother preceded her in death. Surviving family includes her only son, Francisco C. “Jimmy” Galvez, III., and daughter-in-law, Jean M. Galvez, and Jean’s mother, Fumiko Trent; and her only grandson, Collin C. Galvez. Sally was a member of Beverly Hills United Methodist Church, and participated in the Leha Circle. She was a retired psychiatrist with Mildred Mitchell-Bateman Hospital, and Prestera. She graduated medical school at the University of Santo Thomas, Manila, Philippines, and later served a residency at Ypsilanti State Hospital associated with University of Michigan. Rosalia was once employee of the year at the former Huntington State Hospital and a past president of the PPA- Philippine Psychiatrists of America. She was a great humanitarian in many ways always helping people in need or helping the poor in any small way she could help. A memorial service will be held at Beverly Hills United Methodist Church at a later date. Please make donations in her name to Beverly Hills United Methodist Church.
