Patricia Staker
(December 28, 1939 - August 21, 2013)


Mrs. Patricia Floyd “Patsy” Staker, 73, of Huntington, wife of Dr. Donald E. Staker, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm. Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Chapman’s Mortuary Huntington, with Rev. Ron Sanger, of Williamson, WV officiating. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park. She was born on December 28, 1939 at Delbarton, WV, a daughter of the late Senator Noah E. and Thelma Farley Floyd. She was a graduate of Williamson High School and West Virginia University and taught at Williamson High School until her marriage. She was a member of the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, and Alpha Xi Delta Sorority. Patsy was preceded in death by two sisters, Sue, who died at a young age and Alana (Mrs. Dr. Thomas Mearns). She is survived by her husband of forty six years, three sons Douglas (Michelle) and children, Noah and Zachary, William and children, Tyler and Morgan and their mother, Lori; Noah and children, Abigail, Zane and Noah, and their mother, Maura; and Alana’s children , Susan and Rebecca and sons Jeffrey (deceased), Andrew and Dr. John Mearns, and a special friend, Jason Strow . Patsy was a homemaker and culinary artist who constantly sent food to her friends and invited them for meals. Though small in stature, Patsy was greatly involved with family and friends. She adored her grandchildren and they adored her. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Chapman’s Mortuary.
