Obituary

Douglas Arthur Clapper
(February 19, 1952 - February 4, 2014)



Douglas Arthur Clapper, 61, of Huntington, husband of Tina Myers Clapper, passed away Tuesday February 4, 2014 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. A celebration of life will be conducted at noon on Friday at the Madison Ave. Christian Church by Pastor Jamie Gump. He was born February 19, 1952 in Johnson City, NY a son of the late Henry and Mabel Sloat Clapper. He was a retired real estate maintenance man. Douglas was a Deacon at the Madison Ave. Christian Church, an avid fisherman who also loved to camp out. He loved woodcraft and restoring school buses into Recreational Vehicles. Douglas loved to tinker with things. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother; two nephews Ryan Clapper and Jason Clapper and many aunts and uncles. In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Jonathan Clapper; two daughters Shannon Clapper and Dani Clapper; granddaughter Tori Clapper; two brothers and a sister in law Gene and Gwen Clapper and David Clapper; sister and brother in law Mary and Jimmy Thames and several nieces, nephews and great nieces. Douglas grew old but never grew up. Friends may call from 10 am until service time on Friday at the Madison Ave. Christian Church.
