Helen Dean Lawson
(December 10, 1930 - February 17, 2014)



Helen Dean Lawson, 83, of Huntington, WV went to be with the Lord on Monday, February, 17, 2014 at the Grand Strand Medical Center, Myrtle Beach, SC. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Jefferson Avenue Church of God with Pastor Greg Tomlinson and Pastor Paul Farley. Burial will follow at Lawson Family Cemetery, Hamlin, WV. Helen was a retired cafeteria manager for the Cabell County School System, a member of the Jefferson Avenue Church of God, Democratic Women’s Committee and a member of the WV School Food Service Association. Helen was born on December 10, 1930 in Wilsondale, WV the daughter of the late Robert and Nancy Mae Smith Marcum. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Leonard Eugene Lawson, two sons: Bruce E. Lawson and Leonard Eugene Lawson Jr. One brother: Charles Marcum. She is survived by her daughter; Marsha Lawson, two daughters in law: Patty and Tammy Lawson. Five grandchildren and spouses: Jennifer and Aaron Swinford, Pam and Darell Hager, Leonard Lawson III and Emily Lawson. Nathan Lawson and Amanda and Gary Hetherington. Five great grandchildren: Jared and Anna Hager, Jackson Lawson, Ella Hetherington and Aubrey Helen Lawson. One brother Robert Marcum Jr. and one sister: Polly Radford. Several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 6-8 pm Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Reger Funeral Home.
