Obituary

Roger Wendell Haynie
(July 9, 1921 - February 17, 2014)



Roger Wendell Haynie, 92, of Kenova, WV a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 1:00pm at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Becky Lawson. Burial will follow at Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova, WV. Roger was a retired machinist with Houdaille Industries and a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII. He was a graduate of Buffalo High School, a trustee for the Memorial Church of God, Kenova, WV and co-owner of Haynie Heating and Cooling.  He was born on July 9, 1921 in Wayne County, WV the son of the late Zeri and Alberta Thompson Haynie. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Phillip Skeens and three sisters: Leota Fry, Pauline Webb and Bonnie Lucas. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Barbara Webb Haynie, son and daughter in law: Paul and Velvet Kay Haynie of Kenova. Four grandchildren: Amy Haynie, April Smithers, Greg and Jason Skeens. Four great grandchildren: Rocky and Autumn Smithers, Emily and Jack Skeens. Friends may call from 6-8 pm Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Reger Funeral Home.
