JOSEPH NELSON HANKS
(March 15, 1945 - February 18, 2016)


JOSEPH NELSON HANKS, 70, of Huntington, W.Va., passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016. He was born March 15, 1945, in Monroeville, Pa., a son of the late Boyd Hanks and Sarah Graves Hanks Marsh. He was retired from ACF Industries. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Hanks, a stepdaughter Vickie Collins, a stepson Robert Joe Elza, one sister, Louella Moore and one brother, Thomas Hanks. He is survived by one daughter, Nancy Black of Milton; two sons, Christopher Nelson and Brian Nelson, both of Milton; two sisters, Myrtle Meadows of Milton and Nancy Hanks of Ohio; two brothers, Robert Hanks of New Jersey and Albert Hanks of Montana; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2016, at the Woodmere Memorial Park Abbey of Peace Mausoleum, with Pastor Windell Shull officiating. Visitation one hour prior to service. The family would like to give a special thank you to Ava and Vickie at Hall's Assisted Living.
