OPAL BLOOMFIELD McMELLON, 101 of Aiken, South Carolina went to her heavenly home on Friday, February 5, 2016 and is now breathing heaven's air. Formerly of Huntington, WV, Opal was a devoted nurse for many years at several Huntington hospitals. She was an active member of Cyrus Creek Baptist Church in Barboursville for 30 years, before moving to South Carolina in 1999. Her loving husband, Forrest preceded her in death. She is survived by three daughters, Nevi Nencetty of Winston-Salem, NC, Billie-Jo (Cliff) Riddle of Aiken, SC and Saundra Wellhofer of Aiken, SC; 10 grandchildren, Todd (Gena) Nessel, Craig (Nicole) Nessel, Jennifer (Jon) Orndorff, Neil Nessel, Kerry Nessel, Kent (Leandra) Nessel, Scott (Molly) Simonton, Joey (Jocelyn) Simonton, Kim Crist and Jason (Micah) Wellhofer. She is also survived by a brother, Homer Williamson of Man, WV and 22 great-grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be at the Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville, WV on Monday, February 8th at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Ronnie Scarberry conducting the service. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Huntington. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
