JAMES L. McDONALD
(February 12, 2016)



James L. McDonald, 92, of Melbourne FL, formerly of Salt Rock, WV, passed away February 12, 2016 in Melbourne. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Minister David Gladwell. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday at Highland Memory Gardens, Pecks Mill, WV. He was born May 25, 1923, a son of the late Homer and Violet McDonald. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years Mildred, brothers; Lovell, Darrell, Paul, Bill, and Johnny McDonald, sisters; Arcola Dever, and Frances Robinette, son-in-law; Frank Blevins and daughter-in-law; Sharon K. McDonald. Survivors include one daughter; Sharon Blevins, two sons and daughter-in-law; Kenneth H. McDonald, Ronald L. McDonald and his wife Carrie, all of Melbourne, grandchildren Kenneth L. and Teresa McDonald, Amy McDonald, Jamie and Nicole Blevins, Daniel and Laura McDonald, and James B. McDonald; great-grandchildren, Tarah LeMoine, Jamie Blevins Jr., Kayla Rose McDonald, Derek McDonald, Alyssa McDonald, Perry McDonald and Emily Blevins, eight great-great-grandchildren; and a very dear friend Walt Hanke. He was a member of Palm Bay Christian for over 20 years, a proud member of the NRA Golden Eagles, served on the Salt Rock Volunteer Fire Dept. for over 10 years, a retired coal miner and very proud to be from West Virginia. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
