Henry William "Bill" Thomas
(January 19, 1944 - February 1, 2016)



Henry William “Bill” Thomas, 72 of Huntington, went home to be with the Lord February 1, 2016 after a long battle with renal failure. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville by Dr. David Lemming. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. He was born January 19, 1944 in Wayne, WV, a son of the late Harrison and Leona Faulkner Thomas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam Conflict and he served within the U.S. Secret Service. He was the owner of Bill’s Garage and he retired from the Village of Barboursville. He was a member of Lewis Memorial Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Steinbrecher Thomas, daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Michael McDonald, and by his sister Roberta “Bobbie” Williamson, who held a very special place in his heart. He is survived by a brother, David Thomas and two sisters, Mary Sowards and Patricia Gunnel. He is also survived by additional family, Dixie and Sam Ellixson, Carol and Eddie Alford, Deanna and Lee Campbell and a very special niece Jordan McCoy. The family would like to thank his close friends Charles Caserta, Christy Jones and Larry Pitman for their help and support during his illness. Bill will always be remembered for his gentle and patient nature and kind spirit. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Wallace Funeral Home in Barboursville.
