Rev. Stanford Lee Helms
(March 6, 1963 - February 11, 2016)



Rev. Stanford Lee Helms, 52, of Salt Rock, WV, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Lee Dean. Burial will be in Gill Cemetery, Salt Rock. He was born March 6, 1963, in Charlotte, North Carolina, a son of the late Thomas and Wilma Jean Ross Helms. He was a former minister of Cremeans Chapel Church and Blue Sulphur UBI Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Helms and sister, Cathy Helms. He is survived by his wife, Lestie Jobe Helms; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Mark Childers of Salt Rock and Jessica and Matthew Shull of Milton; one son, Stanford Lee Helms Jr. of Salt Rock; four grandchildren, Sydney Nida, Carson Nida, Brooklynn Childers and Okey Childers, and one on the way, Sadie Jean Shull; special aunt, Shirley Nash; and mother-in-law, Irene Jobe. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
