Doris M. Swann
(May 17, 1921 -- June 14, 2009)


Doris Swann, 88, of Huntington, WV, widow of Fred Swann, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2009, in Heritage Center, Huntington. She was born May 17, 1921 in Lawrence County, OH, a daughter of the late Terry Benjamin and Glenna Mae Hunt Cox. A brother, Kermit Cox also preceded her in death. She graduated from Windsor High School. She was a retired cook from the former Hillview Nursing Home and had also worked for Guyan Cremery and Fricke Bakery. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Anna Patricia Swann Watts and Bradley Watts of Huntington; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Eric and Janice Swann of Huntington, and Fred Swann also of Huntington; a granddaughter, Miranda Swann of West Covina, CA; two sisters, Vivian Price of San Diego, CA, and Rylnah "Rink" Tillet of Jacksonville, FL; two sisters-in-law, Patty Derbyshire and Rosalee Hunsaker, both of Huntington; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 12:30 PM Thursday, June 18, 1009 at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Keith Leap officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. The family wishes to extend special thanks to everyone that cared for her at Heritage Center.
