Rev. Frank Brotherton
(September 27, 1921 - July 10, 2010)



Rev. Frank Brotherton, 88, of Huntington, WV, died Saturday July 10, 2010 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted 7:00 PM Monday July 12, 2010 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington by Rev. Jerry Ryder & Rev. Ed Hood. Private burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park with Veterans Honor Guard Post 16 conducting military graveside rites. Frank was born September 27, 1921 in Jackson Co., WV a son of the late Robert Ford & Tressa Mae McCollum Brotherton. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during WWII. Frank retired from the former Houdialle Industries. He then became a full time United Methodist minister serving at Mt Olive, Davis-Bowen, Cox's Landing Z-Warner and St. Mary's Medical Center Pastoral Care before retiring from the ministry. He was preceded in death by 1 brother Mike Chapman. Survivors include his wife Gracie E. "Jean" Chapman Brotherton, 2 daughters & sons-in-law, Vicky Jo & Tommy Cupp of Ona, WV, & Sheila G. & Rex Cupp of Fraziers Bottom, 5 grandchildren, Kelly, Tomi Dawn, Renee, Rex David & Andy, who helped take care of him and was his constant companion till the end, 13 great-grandchildren, 1 brother Don Brotherton of Ona, 3 sisters Celestine Keenan of Barboursville, Carolyn Dornon of Proctorville, & Emma Chapman of Huntington and Debo, a special friend who made him smile. Donations may be made to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Friends may call at Chapman's Mortuary from 6:00 until 7:00 PM Monday July 12, 2010.
