James M. Steinbrecher
(October 6, 1928 - July 26, 2010)



James M. Steinbrecher, 81, of Huntington, WV, loving husband of 62 years and father, died Monday July 26, 2010 at his residence. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday July 29, 2010 at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington with Pastor Jeffrey W. Arthur officiating. Burial will be in Ridgelawn Memorial Park. Jim was born October 6, 1928 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Guy & Mildred Madeline Bias Steinbrecher. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in Korea, a member of the Fourth Ave. United Methodist Church and was retired from Owens-Illinois. He was also a member of the Navy Seabee Veterans of America and was co-founder of the Tri-State Transplant Support Group. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Steinbrecher. Survivors include his loving wife Dorcie Martin Steinbrecher, a daughter & son-in-law, Deborah Kay & Frank Long of Peachtree City, GA, 2 sons & daughters-in-law, David & Cindy Steinbrecher & Duane & Kimberly Steinbrecher all of Huntington, a sister & brother-in-law, Beverly & Bob Weant also of Huntington, a brother & sister-in-law, Jack E. & Jackie Steinbrecher of Greer, SC, eight grandchildren, Susan, Sara, Corey, Jerry, Christina, Lauren, Daniel & Ben, four great-great-grandchildren, Hannah, Madelyn, Harrison & Hayden. Veterans Honor Guard Post 16 will conduct military graveside rites. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Fourth Ave. United Methodist Church. Friends may call at Chapman's Mortuary from 6:00 until 9:00 PM Wednesday July 28, 2010.
