Maxine D. Slone
(June 2, 1914 - July 8, 2010)


Maxine D. Slone, 96, of Columbus, OH, formerly of Huntington, WV and Logan, WV, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010, in Franklin Woods Nursing Home, Columbus, OH. She was born June 2, 1914 in Louisa, KY a daughter of the late John R. and Merle Hannah Daniels. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Orland Slone and a sister-in-law, Louise Daniels. Maxine was a graduate of Marshall University and was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church. She was a retired teacher from Cabell County and Logan County Board of Education. Survivors include: a brother, John A. Daniels of Columbus, OH; several nieces and nephews, including two special nieces, Sharon Reynolds and Brenda Barnett, both of Columbus, OH; and her very good friend, Vivian Thompson of Logan, WV. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Harmony United Methodist Church, Huntington, with Pastor Phil Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Slone Cemetery, West Hamlin, WV, with church members serving as pallbearers. Friends may call from noon until 2:00 PM Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Building Fund at Harmony United Methodist Church, 3800 Riverside Drive, Huntington, WV 25705. Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, is assisting the family.
