Richard Michael Lee

Richard Michael Lee of Huntington, WV, passed away Friday, July 16, 2010 at St. Mary's Medical Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 am in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Huntington, WV with Monsignor Lawrence Luciana officating. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm in Highland Memory Gardens on Mitchell Heights Road, Pecks Mill, WV, with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 6153 Chapmanville, WV. His father, Warfield Lee, his father- in- law and mother- in- law, Clarence and Mary E. Fortner, whom he loved dearly, preceded him in death. Retired from AK Steel Co., Richard Michael was a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother in-law, and friend. He proudly served his country in the US Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 93, Kenova, WV. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Huntington, WV. He is survived by his wife Jeannie Lee, his mother Eileen Lee, two sons Scott (Kellie) Lee and Timothy (Mary) Lee and his precious grandson Bryson Grant Lee. Additional survivors include a special aunt, Betty Winters, brothers and sisters in-law, Tommy (Donna) Fortner, Marty (Stephanne) Fortner, Sandy (Donald) Grimmett, Barbara (Carl) Mounts, Millie (Edward) Twardy, Mila (Danny) Darnell, special friends Tom Francis, Leroy Jackson, Sam Withrow, Raymond Blake and his friends from AK Steel, one brother, Greg Lee, and sister, Ronda Lee in addition to several nieces and nephews and a host of friends; all of whom loved and will miss him dearly. Friends may call from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Sunday at Chapman's Mortuary Huntington. Carl Mounts, Ed Twardy, Don Grimmett, Tom Francis, Sam Withrow, Leroy Jackson and Raymond Blake will serve as honorary pallbearers. Tom Fortner, Marty Fortner. Easton Fortner, Weston Fortner, Dave Lester, Greg Lee, Scott Lee and Tim Lee will serve as pallbearers. A special thank you to the entire MICU Staff at St. Mary's Medical Center for the excellent care and compassion given to Michael during his hospital stay.
